Metals
We incorporate high quality metals in our pieces. We typically create jewelry in solid 14K gold preferred for its appearance and durability. Sometimes we use 10K solid gold. We do not offer plated jewelry simply because it wears off quickly with time.
Jewelry Care
For many pieces, mild detergent, warm water, and a soft brush are a good start. However, opals should never get wet or be cleaned with water. Jewelry needs to be polished regularly and we recommend using Sunshine Polishing Cloths. Avoid harsh chemicals - especially perfumes and skin lotions which can immediately damage opals and pearls. Take your jewelry off while swimming in pools or the ocean. Both chlorine and saltwater erode gold over time. Your fine jewerly should be stored in a dry, airtight container while not in use to prevent tarnish. I prefer using 1" tiny ziplock bags for small earrings, rings and dainty necklaces. Do not wear your jewelry to sleep and remove it each night.
Gemstones & Diamonds
I pride myself on sourcing only the highest quality diamonds and most unique and beautiful natural colored gemstones. Care is taken to provide GIA graded diamonds from reputable vendors. I enjoy discovering and celebrating nature's art creations and finding lesser known uncommon gemstones such as super seven cacoxenite amethyst - a naturally occurring gemstone comprised of seven different minerals in one - and bicolor tourmalines. All gemstones will be notated on our website as natural or lab created.
How is our jewelry made?
Our process begins with sketches and Computer Aided Design. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, conceived and designed in my studio by yours truly. I collaborate with a local master jeweler to bring each design to life, with all gemstones and diamonds hand-set with precision and artistry.
Why are your rings made to order
instead of kept in stock?
With over 10 years in the jewelry industry, I've seen what happens when rings are forced to fit. Most jewelers stretch or compress existing rings to match your size, but this can weaken the metal, cause uncomfortable pressure points, and even lead to breakage over time.
At Jillery, I take a different approach. Every ring is handcrafted in your exact finger size - no stretching, no forcing, no compromising the design. I've already sourced the beautiful gemstones you see in each design, so when you order, I create your ring specifically for your finger. The result? A stronger, more comfortable ring that fits like it was always meant to be yours - because it was.
